Kypegården

We decided to go on a little adventure today. We hiked through the forest to a cute little lake called Kypesjön. The girls were way excited about it and even carried their own lunches in their back packs. They even put up with the photographer enjoying the fall colors along the way ;) They walked the whole way there and back;
approximately 4 kilometers.

Elsa and Kajsa thought it was super fun to feed the ducks.
And I had a great time watching them.

Switzerland 2008

I had the opportunity to fly to Switzerland with the Borås Homeguard band that I am a member of. It was quite a fun trip. I've never been to Switzerland before, and it was a beautiful country. We flew out Wednesday and then came home on Sunday. I've never been away from the girls for that many days in a row before. It went just fine though.
You might also notice that I cut and dyed my hair. I've never been a brunette before, but I think I kind of like it. I'm just starting to get used to it after one week. I do love how fast I can get ready in the morning.

Banana Caviar

Kalles banana caviar.
I know it sounds CRAZY. I thought it sounded crazy when it first came out. Banana flavor and caviar!?!?! When the first commercial came out I really though, maybe it's a joke. I HAD to taste it cause I was just dying of curiosity. I figured, oh well, I'll just through the rest of the tube out, but turns out I just love this stuff. Can't get enough of it. Every now and then I get THE biggest craving for some "knäcke bröd" and banana caviar. Mmmmmmmmmmm, you should all try it ;)
They might have it at your nearest IKEA : - )

Ida and Tomas Wedding

A good friend of mine just got married at the end of july,
and we were lucky enough to be invited.
So the whole Ferrin family got dressed up :)

MEXICO

We finally had our Mexico theme party this past wednesday. Need I say, we all had a good time. Projects like these are always worth the time you put into them and they always turn out as long as you have two ingredients. Good food, and most importantly, good friends. We had both!

We started the night off with Margaritas. (Yes it's true) Notice the dresses that the hot babes are wearing.....they are home made. We made them in my kitchen, with my sewing machine! I know that's not a huge deal......but I'm not the sewing kind. So we were very proud of our accomplishment. Not bad for not having any pattern to follow eh?

Along with the Margaritas we had home made nachos and guacamolé dip. Thad is just too good with food. Note-all the girls dresses aside from Kajsa's are M&M made ;)

Thaddeus graced us with home-made food all night. The main course was chicken enchiladas with real home-made enchilada sauce (which I wanted to drink all by myself) and (home-made) refried beans. We were going to cheat on that one, but turns out you can't buy it in the can here so.....Thaddeus to the rescue, again!


Later on we became philosofers of life and had good discusions. Oh, and I almost forgot we had tequila with the salt on the hand and lemon and everything. Mmmmmmmmmmmm, fun fun fun! Don't worry, the kids were sleeping. And even if they wouldn'thave been we're not crazy drunks, we're happy drunks.
Hehehehe. Sorry, I just had to say it ;)

Sometimes I'm just amazed. I'm amazed at the world, and the cosmos. The very fact that I exist, and can look out upon the world and be utterly confused by it is profoundly inspiring. I just wanted to share this video today because I think that Carl Sagan put it very beautifully. It's just awe inspiring!

Big Girls Don't Cry

Elsa has been wanting to get her ears pierced for quite some time now. Lately she's been emphasizing that she's big enough and isn't scared and she's ready to do it. So Tuesday morning was the big day! Elsa and I went to town, and she picked out the pair she wanted (white flowers) all by herself, and then we did it. Or, she did it. She didn't even want me to hold her hand, and she didn't even cry. Not a single tear. I was so surprised and proud... but not as proud as she was. She's been walking on air ever since.

Poor Kajsa, now she desperately wants her ears pierced too. But it's okay. Kajsa reassured us that "when she was little, she had to wait until she was 20 yrs old to get her ears pierced, and it didn't hurt at all." It's not easy being the younger sibling:)
